Brotherly Tigers and dogs

There are two male northeastern tigers, two male blackback dogs and two male white pet dogs, all of them were born on May 2, 1996. They came to our zoo four years ago, named as NingNing, LianLian, SenSen, LinLin, DongDong, YuanYuan.
NingNing and LianLian are two tigers, both of them were rejected by their mother after they were newly born. So the working staff in the zoo had to breed them manually. These two baby tigers grew up with four other baby dogs on dog mum's milk. So they lived together in an air of harmony and friendship.
When they grew up to the age of one month, the breeders began to let them play on the same lawn and educated them together. By the time they were three months old, they became close friends, just like a big family with 6 lovely children.
They were often shown to the tourists being together. They have appeared on a lot of important occasions, such as the Dalian International Fashion Show, etc. before they were two years old. They became more and more famous in Dalian Zoo, even in Dalian City.
Breeding tigers and dogs together seems an incredible thing to many people because they are of different species, different characters and different branches. So breeding them together is a tough job and one has to take great risks.
Through breeding them together, we can now better master the animals?characters, and take good advantage of these characters to educate them, and make people learn more and love animals more.
It is also hint that breeding animals in different species together can result in social and economic benefit.
These 6 tigers and dogs have been living together for 4 years now. Many interesting stories happened among them. Anyone who came to our zoo holds great interests in the story of these six tigers and dogs and enjoys telling the story to others. |

A manager from Singapore heard of this story and took great pleasure to tell anyone he met, which made Singapore, Peter Hamburg, China Branch donate the caring for these brotherly tigers and dogs, and made Peter Hamburg's General manager of China Branch donate a northeastern tiger.
These brotherly tigers and dogs were shown on CCTV, LNTV and DLTV many times. Almost the whole country knows their story, and it met with a lively response among people, especially those working in zoos.
This new breeding way is an innovative action, well known both at home & abroad. Many leaders from different countries specially asked to come to see these 6 brotherly tigers and dogs.
Our leaders came to our zoo to see them, too, such as Jiang ZeMin, LiPeng, Li RuiHuan, Chen Muhua, Jiang Chunyun, etc. They thought highly of this special breeding way. There are many tourists specially coming here for seeing them. |
