 Hero Tree--Silk Tree |
Silk tree is a kind of plant which bloom first then come into leaf. Between March and April, bowl-sized flowers are densely blooming on the branches. Each flower has five fleshy big petals, many pistils surround the center part of the flower, the cover of petals is milky-white-colored,
the inner part is orange-colored or cardinal-red-colored. Since there are no leaves, silk trees
resemble clusters of red clouds or fires.... |

In the past, human beings thought that birds evolved from creeping animals initially. Archaeopteryx is the middle offspring during this evolution. It is regarded as the ancestor of birds. Though this theory seems somewhat reasonable, many paleontologists still have some doubts
about whether these creeping animals, such as lizards could have evolved into birds due to some sudden variations and natural selection. So there aroused a big argument among these experts.... |

* Brotherly dogs and tigers
There are two male northeastern tigers, two male blackback dogs and two male white pet dogs, all of them were born on May 2, 1996. They came to our zoo four years ago, named as NingNing, LianLian, SenSen, LinLin, DongDong, YuanYuan. |

| An African grazing land has been built in Dalian Forest Zoo to provide wild feeling for the animals and get the visitors' appreciation. This is the second project plan in the Dalian Forest Zoo. In order to achieve a natural feeling, the municipal government decided to import some rare animals from Africa at the time of the second project's foundation. |
